Welcome home, Schalmont family !

The Schalmont Retiree Connection was created for you... our former colleagues, mentors and friends.  This is a place for your to re-connect with those with whom you may have lost contact...or just a way to "keep in touch" with STA members, present and past.

All retired STA members were mailed a questionnaire asking for your name, address and other information.  If you did not receive one, you may download it here and can mail or email the information to Carol Carelli, current STA Secretary and Webmaster.  We will be posting any/all information received from the survey and will make every attempt to keep the site as current as possible. Retiree Brunch Photos

Schalmont Retiree Luncheon Scheduled:  The annual Schalmont Retiree luncheon is scheduled for October 25, 2011 at noon at the Mohawk Club in Schenectady.  The hostesses for the event this year are Lori Bittner and Suzanne Mason.  More information will be emailed to retirees later in the summer.  Many thanks to Carmeen Kolpack and Audrey Patneaude for their assistance in hosting the event over the past years.  See you in the fall!

Deaths:

Marylin Hoover, long time Middle School reading teacher died on October 1, 2011.  Calling hours will be held on Friday, October 7 from 6-8 P.M. at the DeMarco-Stone Funeral Home, 1605 Helderberg Avenue, Schenectady.  The funeral will take place at the Church of St. Gabriel, 3040 Hamburg Street, Rotterdam.  Those wishing to send a card to the family may email  Carol Carelli for her address.  Marylin retired in 1992. 

Adele Boyd, retired HS Guidance Counselor, died on February 4, 2011 at the age of 90.  She retired in 1978.

Walter Aucompaugh, retired elementary PE teacher, died January 28, 2011.

Gertrude Suits, retired Pine Grove teacher, died on April 11. 2009.  Her daughter, Sandra, is also a retired Schalmont teacher.

Ed Martin, retired HS PE teacher, and former STA president died on March 15, 2008.  Ed began his career in 1951 and retired in 1984. 

Mary Jane Fuller, retired Jefferson teacher died on Wednesday, May 14, 2008.  Mary Jane taught 4th grade at Jefferson for 32 years.

Gerry Mitchell passed away the first week in December, 2007.   He was a high school math teacher for many years.
