$75,000 AD&D (premiums paid by the District)
An optional additional $75,000 is available. Teachers pay the premium for this additional coverage at the low group rate through payroll deduction. If you do not currently have the optional life insurance coverage and would like to pick it up, contact Laura Hungershafer at the district office. Ext 4009.
When you leave the district, you may convert your group policy to an individual policy without the need for a physical exam. You must pay the premiums and the converted policy is pricy.
When a teacher dies while in the employ of the district, the teacher's estate will be paid for the teacher's unused accumulated sick days at the payment schedule in Article VI, Section 3 of the Teacher Contract.
