Any teacher eligible for health insurance coverage who elects not to take the health insurance coverage will receive a $4000 incentive. The incentive will be paid in the second payroll of July of the following year.

Teachers who choose to drop their current health coverage are eligible for the incentive. Teachers must stipulate that they have health coverage from another source such as a spouse. The next opportunity to take advantage of the health insurance buyout will be May, 2010. The decision to take the buyout must be renewed each year.

Optical and dental insurance remain in effect if you opt out of the health insurance.
